Interjet Commits to Purchase Agreement for 40 Airbus A320neos
Mexican carrier Interjet has signed an agreement to purchase 40 Airbus A320neo aircraft.
The order will add to the airline’s current fleet of 36 A320s. The two companies did not announce the financial details of the purchase agreement, and Interjet plans on selecting an engine for its A320neos at a later date.
Airbus said the A320neo offers a 15 percent reduction in fuel burn over its predecessor.
“Adding the newest aircraft technology to our already young and efficient A320 fleet will allow us to operate some of the most cost-efficient and environmentally-friendly equipment available in aviation,” said Interjet Chairman Miguel Aleman Velasco.
