IAF is the newest operator of the C-17, the first of 10 C-17s it has on order with Boeing. Deliveries are scheduled for completion in 2014, Boeing said. The C-17 first entered the flight test program in January.
"Nations turn to the C-17 for the capability to perform a wide range of operations, from peacekeeping and disaster relief to troop movements from semi-prepared airfields," said Tommy Dunehew, vice president of mobility, surveillance and engagement at Boeing.
