IndiGo Receives First A320 With Sharklets

IndiGo is the first Indian carrier to take delivery of the A320 equipped with Sharklets, wing tip devices that Airbus said can significantly reduce fuel burn and emissions.

The airline operates an all-Airbus fleet currently featuring a total of 62 A320s.

“In little over six years since we began operating, our low fares and high service ethos at IndiGo has enabled us to grow to become India’s largest domestic carriers. We already operate one of the world’s youngest most fuel efficient fleets and our investment in Sharklet will help reduce our fuel consumption even further,” said Aditya Ghosh, president of IndiGo.
