The International Lease Finance Corp. (ILFC) has finalized a purchase agreement for up to 100 Embraer E2 jets, after originally signing a letter of intent for the next generation of Embraer regional jets at the Paris Air Show in June.
Under the agreement, ILFC has committed to purchasing 50 E2 jets, including 25 E190-E2s and 25 E195-E2s, worth $2.85 billion at current list prices. The agreement includes options for 50 additional aircraft, also split between the smaller E190 and larger E195 variants.
Embraer originally began selecting suppliers for its second generation of commercial E-Jets in January, announcing Pratt & Whitney's PurePower Geared Turbofan engines to provide power for the jets, which are scheduled to enter into service beginning in 2019.
Utah-based regional carrier SkyWest Airlines was recently confirmed as the launch customer for the E2 jets, with a firm order for 100 E2s.
