Helios Becomes Egis Avia Subsidiary

French air transportation services company Egis Avia has acquired the U.K.-based aviation consultancy firm Helios.

The acquisition was a strategic move, as the company looks to expand its portfolio of consulting and engineering services for airport, air traffic management and air operations, Egis Avia CEO Cedric Barbier said. Helios will retain its brand name and is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Egis Avia.

“Helios will continue to deliver its services from Farnborough and Žilina, and in that respect it is very much ‘business as usual’. What we’re particularly excited about is that our team will now have access to more support worldwide, as well as the opportunity to collaborate on new opportunities,” said Mike Shorthose, chairman of Helios.
