Helicopter Manufacturers Embrace Facebook and Twitter
Before the Internet, having access to helicopter manufacturer’s company information was reserved for those individuals involved in the industry, their friends and acquaintances. Along came the Internet, allowing access to information for anyone, worldwide. Then Facebook arrived in 2004 and Twitter in 2006, called social networking services, allowing people and organizations to connect, communicate and share information like never before.
However, not everyone is convinced about Facebook or Twitter. Some people use both, one or the other, or neither. Yet Facebook provides companies with a marketing tool like no other with the ability to self-publish text, graphics, photos or photo albums, links and videos. The communication is instant and public. Some examples of posts include press releases, providing customer support, receiving customer feedback, rolling out new products, raising brand awareness, offering special discounts, supplying comic relief or providing holiday wishes.
Twitter is social networking based on microblogging, where users can read or post messages of up to 140 characters in length. It allows the posting of text, graphics, photos, videos and links. Twitter is popular because you can follow anyone or any organization, it’s instant communication (from personal thoughts to breaking news) and because it’s a stream of short messages, it is very easy to use with smart phones and mobile devices.
The following is a list of helicopter manufacturers that are actively using Facebook and Twitter as of Sept. 26, 2013, as well as their numbers and corresponding links.
