Gulfstream on Thursday announced new type certification from civil aviation authorities in China and Canada for its new super mid-size business jet, the G280.

The $24 million G280 first entered service in November 2012, and is now certified in the United States, Israel and the European Union.
The aircraft has capacity for 10 passengers, and a cockpit featuring the Rockwell Collins PlaneView 280 flight deck with a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.85.
With certification out of the way, Gulfstream can now move forward with registering the G280 in both countries. Scott Neal, senior vice president of sales for Gulfstream, said the mid-size jet will be popular in both regions because of its fuel efficiency.
