GE Aviation Acquires Morris Technologies
GE Aviation has acquired Morris Technologies, and its sister company Rapid Quality Manufacturing, in an effort to expand its jet engine engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
The two Cincinnati, Ohio-based precision manufacturing companies specialize in an automated process for creating rapid prototypes and end-use production components with computer aided design (CAD) software. Both companies have supplied parts to GE Aviation in the past, including for the LEAP jet engine currently being developed by CFM International.
GE did not disclose the financial details of the acquisition, which comes a day after its $2.4 billion engine order from Turkish Airlines. More
