Coinciding with the close of one Dubai International runway May through July, hybrid carrier flydubai will move select flights to newly opened Al Maktoum International Airport this summer. The carrier will return all routes to Dubai International after the 80-day repair work period on the runway finishes.
Dubai Airport’s capacity is projected to decrease 28 percent over that time and, as the second largest airline operating out of the airport, flydubai will seek to maintain capacity with the help of flights departing from the Al Maktoum 7-million passenger capacity airport.
