Fiji Airways is seeking fleet upgrades among other expansion opportunities according to a five-year strategic plan released by the state run carrier on Friday, Jan. 10.
The expansion is focused on aircraft acquisition, increasing operating profits and expanding the route network through airline partnerships. Fiji's acquisition plan is focused on growing its fleet size by 25 percent with new Airbus
737-800s and ATR 72-600s.
Acquiring the new aircraft will increase the number of available seats and passengers across all markets by 35 and 39 percent respectively, the airline said.
Stefan Pichler, managing director and CEO of Fiji Airways said the strategic plan will turn the carrier into a "world-class airline."
