FAA Issues Civil Penalty Against Pinnacle Airlines
FAA proposed a $275,000 civil penalty against Memphis, Tenn.-based regional carrier Pinnacle Airlines for operating a Bombardier CRJ that was not in compliance with federal aviation regulations.
The agency said Pinnacle mechanics did not install a required engine component when they removed and replaced the aircraft’s right engine. The carrier operated the jet on 11 flights in 2010 while not in compliance with federal regulations.
Pinnacle is currently undergoing Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, so it will not be required to pay the civil penalty, FAA said. More
