Embraer, UTC Aerospace Form Agreement for Second Generation E-Jets

UTC Aerospace Systems has been selected to provide the electric power generation and distribution system for the second generation of E-Jets, scheduled to enter service in 2018, Embraer said Thursday.

The United Technologies Corp. subsidiary was also selected to provide the wheels and carbon brakes for the second generation of E-Jets.

“The selection of these systems is another important milestone in the program that is expected to be launched later this year,” Embraer said in a statement.

In February, Embraer selected Honeywell to supply its Primus Epic integrated avionics system for the next generation of E-Jets, a month after Pratt & Whitney’s Geared Turbofan engines were selected to power the aircraft. More
