The Albuquerque, N.M.-based manufacturer earned final production certificate for the 550 in March, its first new production jet following the re-launch of the company by CEO Mason Holland following a bankruptcy filing in 2009.
"In just four short years we have returned Eclipse to being a successful aircraft manufacturing company," said Holland on the debut of the 550.
Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada P610F jet engines and featuring dual WAAS (LPV) GPS receivers and a dual and redundant channel flight management system (FMS), Holland calls the 550 the "most technologically advanced light jet the world has ever seen."
