EasyJet Shareholders Approve $13 Billion Airbus A320 Order

Low-cost U.K. carrier easyJet has confirmed its $13 billion order for 135 Airbus A320 aircraft, after shareholders approved the purchase originally announced in June at the Paris Airshow

The order includes the purchase of 100 A320s with the current engine option, and 35 additional A320s powered by the new engine option (neo). Airbus is scheduled to begin delivering the new aircraft in 2015.

EasyJet is looking to use the new planes to replace its aging fleet, which features the largest collection of A320 family aircraft in Europe.
