EASA Issues Certification on Citation M2

[Aviation Today June 23, 2014] Cessna's Citation M2 business jet has received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification, enabling immediate deliveries of the new aircraft. The certification comes two weeks after the EASA certified the Cessna Citation Sovereign+. The Citation M2 has been certified for single-pilot operations.

Chris Hearne, vice president of Cessna's jets division, said the company has seen "significant interest from European customers for the Citation M2" because of its size power and range.
"This aircraft can easily handle non-stop legs throughout the region such as Paris to Athens or Zürich to Moscow. This news, coupled with the recent EASA certification of the Citation Sovereign+, means that customers in Europe have more options to meet their business aviation needs," said Hearne.

After clearing FAA certification issued in December 2013, Cessna has delivered 23 Citation M2s. Other new Citation products coming to the market this year include the Citation CJ3+, Citation X+ and Citation Latitude.
