Corendon, AFI KLM E&M Sign Engine Agreement for Boeing 737s
Turkish carrier Corendon Airlines signed a new contract with Air France Industries and KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) to support its fleet of Boeing 737-800s equipped with CFM56-7 engines.
Under the new contract, AFI KLM E&M will provide engine parts replacement and "Core Performance Restoration," which the company describes as an intermediate maintenance procedure between a complete overhaul and on wing maintenance.
"We selected AFI KLM E&M because they offer the best balance between technical skills and price competitiveness. And because of its experience, it is a group that is able to provide full coverage of services to the customers – something that inspires trust. They also demonstrated promised speed of their turn around, time on the first engine, which minimized our lease engine costs," said Oguzhan Horasanli, powerplant engineer at Corendon.
AFI KLM E&M completed the first engine overhaul at its engine shop in Amsterdam, and will perform overhauls for the remaining CFM56-7 engines in Corendon's fleet by 2015. Corendon operates a fleet of five Boeing 737-800s. More
