The Duluth, Minn.-based airframe manufacturer said the first and second quarter results were its best first half delivery numbers since 2008.
"Momentum at Cirrus, specifically around the Generation 5 SR22 and SR22T, is driving demand for new piston aircraft that is starting to feel closer to pre-recession levels," said Todd Simmons, executive vice president of sales at Cirrus.
According to the second quarter earnings report released by the General Aviation Manufacturer's Association (GAMA) on Monday, overall shipments of piston engine aircraft were increased by 16 percent during the first six months of 2013, compared to the same period last year.
Currently Cirrus has over 500 production positions reserved for its $1.96 million SF50 Vision Jet, which is scheduled for its first delivery in 2015.
