Cessna TTx Completes First Production Flight
Cessna’s new single engine piston aircraft, the TTx, completed its first production flight on March 2.
The first production flight departed from the company’s facility in Independence, Kan., climbing to 17,000 feet and achieving a speed of 213 kts. The TTx is the first aircraft to feature the Garmin G2000 avionics system, Cessna said.
“The TTx performed exceptionally well,” said Brian Steele, business leader for the TTx program. “It’s the world’s fastest fixed gear, single engine piston aircraft in production - pilots who like to go fast and go in style are going to enjoy the TTx.”
TTx is one of six new aircraft that Cessna expects to bring to market in 2013, including the new Citation X, Citation M2, Grand Caravan EX, 182 Turbo Skylane JT-A and the New Citation Sovereign, which rolled out of the production facility last week. More
