Under the new joint venture, Cessna will provide components, parts manufacturing and sub-assemblies at its facility in Kansas, and CAIGA will provide final assembly, paint and flight testing of Cessna XLS+ aircraft for customers based in China.
"This is an exciting opportunity for Cessna, given the tremendous growth potential of the region and our ability to bring high quality, proven aircraft that people have come to expect from Cessna," said Scott Ernest, president and CEO of Cessna.
The joint venture stems from the strategic framework agreement signed by Cessna and CAIGA parent company Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), the company said.
