Canadian Helicopters Wins Afghanistan Support Deal
The U.S. Transportation Command has granted a $72.4-million contract to Ottawa-based Canadian Helicopters/Canadian Commercial Corp. for helicopter services in Afghanistan. The agreement, which runs until Oct. 31, 2013, includes helicopters, pilots, mechanics and support personnel, tools, maintenance and management to carry out passenger and cargo transportation in Afghanistan. Canadian Helicopters was one of six companies to receive contracts until the multiple-award, fixed-price contract—the others are AAR, Columbia Helicopters, Construction Helicopters, Evergreen Helicopters and Vertical de Aviacion.
