has selected HDI Landing Gear USA Inc. as its landing gear systems supplier for its 777X, a larger variant its 777 aircraft.
The two companies signed an agreement contingent upon the launch of the 777X program, which the manufacturer plans on launching by the end of the year. Potential customers are currently discussing more details about the 777X with Boeing
, as the company still needs to secure a launch customer before implementing a production schedule for the new aircraft.
Under the new agreement, HDI will provide the main and nose landing gear, and the nose landing gear drag strut. Héroux-Devtek, parent company of HDI, expects to sign a multi-year contract for the landing gear with deliveries beginning in 2017 and an option to extend the contract through 2028.
