BOC Aviation Orders 50 Airbus A320 Family Aircraft

Chinese aircraft leasing firm BOC Aviation placed a firm order for 50 Airbus A320 family aircraft on Tuesday, a $5 billion order according to current Airbus list prices.

The deal comes following an agreement for the order from the aircraft leasing division of Bank of China and Airbus in December. The order includes 25 A320neo planes, A320 and A321 variants.

Airbus has announced orders for more than 200 aircraft worth $25 billion over the past four weeks, the majority of which have been for its A320neo planes.

“The A320neo Family order reinforces our commitment to be a key player in the leasing industry as we make the latest eco-efficient aircraft available to our customers,” said Robert Martin, managing director and CEO of BOC Aviation.

Airbus said its A320neo would enter into service beginning in late 2015. More
