BAE Systems Remains RAAF Support Provider

The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) signed a new five-year $435 million contract to keep BAE Systems as its in-service provider on its fleet of Hawk 127 lead-in jet fighter fleet.

Under the contract, BAE Systems will provide maintenance, engineering, full logistics and training systems for a total of 33 Hawk fighters. BAE Systems Australia Aerospace Director Steve Drury said the contract would benefit RAAF with significant cost reduction on maintenance operations.

“Our solution builds on the previous 10 per cent plus cost reduction we achieved on Hawk support in recent years to deliver further savings through more innovative solutions,” Drury said.
