RAFO ordered a fleet of 12 Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft in December 2012, with delivery scheduled to begin in 2017. Alenia will start producing components for the Eurofighters in 2014. The contract is part of a five-year logistics support package requested by RAFO.
Since its entry into service in 2004, the Eurofighter has become Europe's largest collaborative defense sector program with over 350 aircraft delivered.
