Airbus Delivers First A380 to Thai Airways
Airbus delivered the first of six A380s on order to Thai Airways on Thursday.
The state-run Thailand carrier is the ninth airline to take delivery of the A380, and plans on entering the aircraft into service in October. Airbus said the remaining A380s on order would be delivered to Thai in 2013.
“We chose the Airbus A380 aircraft because it is preferred by passengers for its spacious cabin – offering extra flying comfort,” said Capt. Montree Jumrieng, executive vice president at Thai. “Throughout our 50-year history, THAI has built a very strong reputation for the quality of its Royal Orchid Service as one of Asia’s most admired airlines. The six A380s joining our fleet will continue this tradition, and add new dimensions in customer appeal.”
