Airbus A350 XWB Final Assembly Line Officially Inaugurated
Airbus executives and French lawmakers inaugurated the A350 XWB Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Toulouse, France, on Tuesday.
The Airbus XWB family consists of three A350 variants, the A350-800, A350-900 and A350-1000, all wide-body aircraft equipped with Trent XWB engines. Airbus said it will have the capability to produce up to 10 A350 variants per month beginning in 2018.
The FAL facility has been named after Roger Béteille, who is known for helping Airbus introduce its A300 into service about 40 years ago.
The first two A350 XWB aircraft, the static aircraft and the first flyable aircraft (MSN1), are currently entering the stages of final assembly at the facility.
