Air Berlin Expands Passenger Jet Lease Agreements

Los Angeles-based Air Lease Corp. on Monday announced a new aircraft lease agreement with Air Berlin, along with several extensions on aircraft that the airline currently operates.
The new agreement is for a new Boeing 737-800, scheduled for delivery to Air Berlin in February 2016. Air Lease Corp. also completed lease extensions on four Boeing 737-800s, one Airbus A320-200 and one A321-200.

Steven Udvar-Hazy, chairman and CEO of Air Lease, said the lease extensions are part of Air Berlin's plans to "grow their operations." The German carrier recently added more flights to Spain, Russia and the Canary Islands, and also expanded a codeshare agreement with Air Seychelles.
