AAR to Provide Boeing 737 Modifications for Colombian Air Force
Maintenance, repair and overhaul provider AAR expects to generate $31 million for modifying two Boeing 737-400s for the Colombian air force.
One of the 737s will be converted from a passenger configuration to a combination passenger/freighter configuration, and the second will be converted into a freighter-only configuration, the company said.
"The program is based on a successful procurement and conversion program we originally developed for the U.S. Government and we are looking forward to implementing this cost-effective, custom solution for the Colombian Air Force,” said Donald J. Wetekam, senior vice president, government and defense business development for AAR.
No completion date has been announced for the aircraft conversions, which will be performed along with cargo conversion provider Pemco, at AAR’s aircraft services facility in Miami.
