started the 2013 Paris Air Show with a $10.4-billion order for 100 A320s from the Lufthansa Group, and a $5-billion order from aircraft leasing company ILFC for 50 A320neo aircraft.

The order from Lufthansa includes 35 A320neo, 35 A321neo and 30 A320ceo aircraft, all of which will be equipped with Sharklet wing-tip devices, according to Airbus. ILFC placed its order as an add-on to its 2011 order for 100 A320 aircraft.
Lufthansa, with the new order, becomes the largest Airbus customer in Europe, bringing its order total for A320s to 299. Nico Buchholz, executive vice president of fleet management for the Lufthansa Group, stated that the new order will "meet the future growth and fleet renewal needs of the Lufthansa Group airlines."
The new engine option A320 is scheduled to enter service in 2015. ILFC will make its engine choice at a later date. Airbus did not announce anticipated delivery schedules for either of the two large A320 orders.
