Vice President, Strategy and Programs
Andy works closely with the RTCA President in developing and executing strategies to ensure RTCA’s continued effectiveness as the premier venue for tackling the tough air transportation system implementation issues facing the global aviation community. He has a leadership role in outreach to the aviation community, oversight of key policy committees and workgroups as well as interacting with governmental policy makers and international air navigation service providers.
Andy has over 30 years of aviation policy experience in safety, security and air traffic control regulatory and legislative policy development and advocacy, and has participated in advisory organizations and committees tasked with mapping the future of the U.S. air traffic control system. Prior to joining RTCA, Andy served as Director for Aviation Affairs with Sensis Corporation, an air traffic control technology company, representing their interest with the FAA and aviation industry. He previously was executive vice president for government affairs for the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) and held senior policy and government affairs roles at the National Air Transport Association (NATA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). He also worked for Eastern Airlines in ramp operations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in aviation management from Auburn University.
