“Enhanced Vision Systems in the Rotorcraft Environment”

The military and the airborne law enforcement communities have utilized gyro-stabilized infra-red thermal imaging systems in combat environments and to catch criminals for years, now. FLIR’s EVS3™ is a much smaller, fixed-mount unit providing low cost thermal imagery for use as a pilot’s vision enhancement aide. EVS enhances the pilot’s ability to see terrain and other aircraft in total darkness, and other poor visibility conditions such as light precip, dust and smoke by feeding infra-red video directly into a cockpit monitor or existing multi-function display.

Presented by Eric Davidson, FLIR Systems
