| The mission was performed at Mala Studena Dolina Valley under the Priecne Sedlo Saddle. After a rocky avalanche, screaming and calls for help could be heard. Four persons were injured, one of them very severely. The helicopter immediately took off and the doctor got to the injured persons on the steep slope by hoist. There he found a four-member family and the most severely injured person was the father of the family. It was necessary to act very quickly, so the doctor started the intubation. During intubation they could hear screaming from the top and the enormous noise of another rocky avalanche falling directly towards the doctor and the patient. Huge rocks were falling down both their sides and tore off completely the doctor’s medical equipment. It was a miracle nothing happened to the doctor and patient again. The mission took 2.5 hours and at the end all the family members were saved. | |
