Keith M Cianfrani is a twenty-five year career army officer who started his aviation career after graduating from flight school in 1982 and finished his career as a Lieutenant Colonel and former commander and chairman of military science Department of SUNY College at Brockport, New York. Keith holds a Bachelors Degree in Finance from LaSalle University, and a Masters Degree in Aerospace Safety from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He has taught in the Military Science Departments at Drexel University, La Salle University, The University of Pennsylvania, Rutgers University and St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. Keith also served as a safety officer for the 33d Aviation Group, Ft. Rucker, Alabama and for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) as part of the US Army’s counter-drug task force. He also served as an instructor pilot at Fort Rucker for over 5 years.
Mr. Cianfrani is a graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth, KS, The US Army Flight Program, The US Army Instructor Pilot Course, The US Army’s Aviation Accident Investigators Course and The Federal Aviation Administration’s Accident Investigators Course. As an accident board president and safety officer, Keith lead accident investigative teams worldwide for the U.S. Army’s Safety Center. He is a Master Army Aviator, both rotary and fixed wing, and an Instructor Pilot with over 3500 flight hours.
Keith is a published author of many articles relating to leadership and safety in magazines such as Countermeasures, Flight Fax and Rotor and Wing. He has also worked for the US Army Safety Center teaching the relationship between leadership and safety. He has many leadership and safety awards in this field to include the Army Aviation Association Safety Officer of the Year Award, Ft. Rucker, Alabama.
As a civilian pilot and CFI, Keith has flown in around the Philadelphia and New York areas for over 20 years. He has flown in the medical transport, news gathering and executive air transport fields. Keith currently operates an Aviation Safety Consulting Company, teaches leadership, aviation safety and risk management for Drexel University and the School District of Philadelphia.
