ITT - Night Vision
Mike Alvis is Vice President, Business Development at ITT Night Vision. Alvis is responsible for worldwide sales and marketing. He is also responsible for developing and executing ITT Night Vision’s business strategy. ITT Night Vision, based in Roanoke, Virginia, is the world’s leading developer, producer and supplier of Gen 3 image intensifier technology for U.S. and allied military forces, as well as the homeland security market. ITT has served the U.S. military with premier research, development, production and logistics for analog and digital fusion solutions for 50 years. ITT delivered its one millionth Gen 3 image intensification tube in 2007.
Alvis joined Night Vision as Vice President of Programs in November, 2006. Prior to this, Alvis served as Director, Value Based Leadership Development at ITT Defense Headquarters and was responsible for the succession planning and leadership development of Defense and Finance executives throughout ITT Corporation
Alvis is a retired U. S. Army Colonel. During his 26 year career he commanded four combat arms units overseas and completed three assignments in the Pentagon. His awards include the Army Distinguished Service Medal and the German Cross of Honor. He is also a holds the Army’s highest aeronautical rating, Master Army Aviator, and has flown hundreds of hours with night vision goggles.
Alvis holds a B.A. degree from Tulane University, an M.A. from Central Michigan University and an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
