Steve Colby Bio


Steve Colby is the Program Manager for Integration and Test IPT, LMSI – Owego. His unit is chiefly responsible for planning executing and testing helicopter completion contracts for US DoD and other governments.

Steve Colby joined the USAF on October 15, 1979 as a helicopter flight mechanic. He received a bachelor’s degree In Business Administration and Economics from Clark University in 1988 and received his Regular Commission as a distinguished graduate through AFROTC at Holy Cross. He received his pilot’s wings as a distinguished graduate from Fort Rucker, Alabama in 1989. He has completed operational tours in MAC, AMC, AFSPACECOM and ACC in UH-1N, MH-60G and HH-60G helicopters. He is directly credited with 22 lives saved in his flying career. After retiring from the USAF in 2007, Mr. Colby joined the civilian sector working as a senior flight test engineer for EW and IR threat countermeasure testing. He joined the Lockheed team in November 2007 as part of the CSAR capture team. Mr. Colby is accompanied by his wife Pamela and their three children.
