Columbia to Open Engine Testing Facility

Columbia Helicopters is hosting a grand opening Thursday for its new turbine engine testing facility at the Aurora State Airport.
The ceremony will begin at noon at Wes Lematta Field, 14452 Arndt Road N.E. Company Chairman of the Board Nancy Lematta and President Mike Fahey will cut the ceremonial ribbon.
The $4 million project is expected to spur growth in the company by enabling employees to work on a wider variety of turbine helicopter engines and attract new customers. The facility will replace the existing test cell and is specifically designed to support the T55-714 turbine engine, often used in military CH-47 Chinook helicopters. Full Story
