Norway Seeks Light Single for Polar Bear Research

The Norwegian Polar Institute has issued a request for one helicopter for one month. The Institute intends to use the helicopter for 150 hr to support a project to tag and test polar bears on Svalbard, an archipelago north of mainland Europe and East Greenland.  The helicopter will be based on the institute’s research vessel R/V Lance, slated to sail from the port of Tromsø on June 25. The request specifies the helicopter must be the equivalent of an AS350B2 or similar type and equipped with specific radios and frequencies.  Some of the flying will take place over water and drifting ice; therefore, the helicopter must be equipped with inflatable floats.  For related news
