Rotorcraft Report: Hindustan Aeronautics-CAE School For Dhruv, Bell 412 Training Not a Certainty

TRAINING/SIMULATORS

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. was apparently ready to announce a partnership with CAE to launch a simulator-equipped flight school in Bangalore, India next September 2008.

But the Canadian training firm says it has not signed any deal and is in negotiations with several Indian schools, which it would not specify.

The new school would be set up to provide domestic training on HAL’s Dhruv and would feature simulation for three variants of that light helicopter and the Bell Helicopter 412. Software for the Dhruv simulation would be developed by HAL. The simulator, if a contract is signed, would be the third of its kind in the world, said HAL. The other two are in the United Kingdom and France.
