Rotorcraft Report: Summit Reviews Multi-Agency SAR Ops Lessons

TRAINING

Rotor & Wing’s 2008 Search and Rescue Summit, slated for Sept. 18 in Reston, Va., will capture lessons of multi-agency SAR operations..

The one-day event will include a morning session on the lessons of such operations, drawing on rescue efforts following Hurricane Katrina, multi-jurisdiction drills in the Northeast United States and industry efforts to integrate private and commercial helicopters into response operations. An afternoon session will focus on training for improved SAR operations. That will be followed by a webinar, "The Go/No Go Decision in SAR Ops."

The event will feature a luncheon for the presentation of R&W’s Helicopter Heroism Awards, which have been expanded this year to cover military, public service and private/commercial/civil operations. For more info and to register, visit www.searchandrescuesummit.com.
