Sikorsky Says It Plans to Resolve Pentagon Quality Concerns

Sikorsky Aircraft says it has struck a deal with the U.S. Defense Dept. to resolve major concerns about the production quality of its UH-60 helicopters. The Defense Contract Management Agency laid out its concerns in a Nov. 22 letter to Sikorsky President Jeff Pino. As a result, Pino told Dow Jones Newswires that he shuffled his management team, launched an all-out effort to fix the quality problems, overhauled the way it handles tools on its factory floor, and submitted new plans for shifting work away from its Stratford, Conn., headquarters to other factories around the country.
