Schweizer Seeks 130 for Busy Lines, Black Hawk Work

With its commercial and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) helicopter, fixed-wing reconnaissance and R&D lines cranking and a lot more work coming from parent Sikorsky Aircraft, Schweizer Aircraft is hiring. The Horseheads, N.Y.-based company held a job fair July 21 for 30 immediate openings. It plans to hire 100 more next year when it opens a 100,000-sq.-ft. facility for completing all Sikorsky Black Hawks that are not in a standard configuration destined for the U.S. Army. Schweizer today employs about 500. Sikorsky recently named Schweizer, officially now the Sikorsky Hawk Works @ Schweizer Aircraft, as its center of excellence for rapid prototyping, UAVs and reconnaissance aircraft. More
