Satellite System Integrated On British Helicopters

The defense technology firm QinetiQ has integrated a civil satellite communications system into a number of British Ministry of Defense Joint Helicopter Force helicopters as part of an in-theater Urgent Operational Requirement Program. The new system allows for beyond-line-of-sight voice communication. It will also permit the helicopters to efficiently communicate with operational headquarters. To produce the system, QinetiQ combined design teams and engineers with system evaluation and flight engineering services. For related news
