Russian Helicopters Wants More of Market

Russia is looking to meet 15 percent of the world’s demand for helicopters by 2025, according to The Moscow Times.com. In a statement released last week, Russian Helicopters is hoping to increase its share of the global market from its current five percent. The company said it will produce more than 300 helicopters starting in 2015 and make 500 per year by 2025. This year, the company expects to produce 150 helicopters. The companies that make up Russian Helicopters reported sales of more than 28 billion rubles ($1.1 billion) last year. The company reports that there are more than 5,200 helicopters in use in 80 countries. Russian Helicopters is owned by state arms dealer Rosoboronexport. For related news
