Report: Lockheed to Pitch MH-60R to Australia

Lockheed Martin plans to brief Australian defense officials on its Sikorsky Aircraft MH-60R multi-mission helicopter as a possible replacement for the canceled Super Seasprite program, The Sydney Morning Herald reports. Slated for its first deployment with the U.S. Navy within the next year, the MH-60R includes an advanced anti-submarine warfare and fleet-protection electronic suite. Australia in early March canceled its $1 billion contract for 11 Kaman Aerospace SH-2Gs because of protracted delays. Australia’s Navy operators 16 Sikorsky Seahawks from its warships. Sikorsky and Lockheed are co-prime contractors on the MH-60S/R program. For related news
