The New Zealand Ministry of Defense has agreed to buy 10 SH-2G Super Seasprites from Kaman Aircraft Corp. According to Kaman, the $120-million contract includes spare parts, a full mission flight simulator and related logistics support for the multi-mission helicopter. New Zealand is scheduled to begin taking delivery of the helicopters beginning later this year. The SH-2G is currently in operation with the Royal New Zealand Navy, along with the Egyptian Air Force and Polish Navy. Kaman started the H-2 Seasprite program in the late 1950s, flying for number of years before retiring them in June 2001.
