NTSB Hearing to Focus on EMS Safety
The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has scheduled a public board meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 9:30 am to discuss 19 recommendations to improve helicopter emergency medical services (EMS) safety. Topics at the meeting will include pilot training and safety management systems to help reduce risk; collection of flight, weather and safety data; use of dual pilots, autopilots and night vision imaging systems (NVIS); and flight data monitoring. The board meeting will take place at NTSB’s conference center in Washington, DC. A live broadcast of the meeting will be available at www.ntsb.gov/Events/Boardmeeting.htm.
