MRF Wins HAL Contract

India-based MRF has won a contract to manufacture helicopter tires for Hindustan Aeronautical Ltd’s line of Chetak military helicopters. The tires will be sold under the brand name of Aero Muscle and produced at the company’s Arakonam plant near Chennai. Production will reportedly be moved to a larger aircraft tire assembly line at the company’s Medak location in the future. The deal marks the first time a tire company based in India has been tapped to provide tires to the country’s largest military helicopter manufacturer. For related news
