MD: LUH Award “Disloyal to American Industry”

MD Helicopters, Inc. head Lynn Tilton ripped into the U.S. Army’s choice of a competitor to provide 322 Light Utility Helicopters, calling its selection process “seriously flawed and perfunctory at best” and the contract award itself an “outrageous act of disloyalty to American industry” in a July 3 press release. The Army on June 30 picked a team led by EADS North America, a unit of the French-German conglomerate EADS, to provide a version of the Eurocopter EC145 for domestic utility missions. Other bidders were AgustaWestland with its AW139 and Bell Helicopter with its 412EP. More
