Kansas Police Ends Helo Program

To save $50,000 a month, the Monterey County Sheriff's Office suspended its use of two leased helicopters; a Robinson R44 and a Bell JetRanger. The helicopters were leased through Verticare, which provided the pilots and maintenance too. The sheriff's office is facing millions in a budgetary shortfall and was forced to eliminate the program.
