Jordan, Russian to Start Ka-226 Plant
A joint venture of Jordan and Russia plans to start construction midyear on a plant in Jordan to manufacture Kamov Ka-226 helicopters, The Jordan Times reports. The facility will be built on Queen Alia International Airport, according to an official of the new joint venture, called OPK Oboronprom Middle East. The Ka-226 is a light helicopter designed for passenger, transport, search-and-rescue, emergency medical services, patrol, and firefighting missions.
